Preparing for the Tests

Study Guides

There is a study guide for each test in the CEOE program. Each study guide includes the test competencies, sample test questions for a selection of the test competencies, explanations of the answers to the sample questions, and suggested test preparation strategies.

Study guides are available online at no cost by selecting "Study Guides" on the CEOE Web site. You may also order printed copies of study guides at a cost of $6 per guide. If you are registering for one or more paper-based tests by mail or on the Internet, you may purchase study guides when you register. If you are not currently registering, or if you wish to purchase multiple copies of a single study guide, complete and submit the CEOE Study Guide Order Form. This form can be found in the printed registration bulletin and is also available to download as a PDF document by selecting "Print Bulletin and Forms (PDF)" on the CEOE Web site.

Practice Test–OGET

As an additional aid in preparing to test, a downloadable practice test is available for the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET) at no cost to candidates. This practice test includes a full-length sample test and evaluation information, such as an answer key and answer worksheet, sample responses to the writing assignment, scoring rubrics, and a practice test score results worksheet. Select "OGET Practice Test" on the CEOE Web site to download the practice test.

CBT Tutorials

CBT Tutorial Preview. Candidates taking a computer-based test are given an on-screen tutorial at the test center before taking the test. The tutorial demonstrates how to navigate through the test, how to indicate answers, and how to use the features of a computer-based test. The tutorial is available by selecting "CBT Tutorials" on the CEOE web site.

Pearson Professional Centers Tour. The Pearson Professional Centers Tour gives candidates taking the CEOE on computer a virtual tour of a Pearson Professional Center. It includes a video and floorplan to help acquaint the candidate with the Pearson Professional Centers testing experience. Select "CBT Tutorials" on the CEOE web site to view this tour.
