Background Questions
When you register for the CEOE, you will be asked to answer the following background questions. Providing accurate and complete background information about yourself is important; the information you provide will be kept confidential.
If you register on the Internet, you will answer the following questions interactively as you register. If you register by mail, enter your responses to the following questions on the registration form. Each section number corresponds to the section of the registration form where you will record your response.
8. Certification Category
Select the option that describes your certification category.
- Initial License/Certification. Select this if you are seeking an initial licensure or certification AND you are currently enrolled in or have graduated from an Oklahoma teacher preparation or advanced certification program.
- Additional Endorsement. Select this if you currently hold an Oklahoma teaching certificate.
- Alternative pathways to certification. Select this if you have NOT completed a teacher preparation or advanced certification program AND you are seeking certification through an alternative pathway (i.e., Alternative Placement Program, Paraprofessional Route to Teacher Certification).
- Four-Year-Olds and Younger Certificate. Select this if you hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and are seeking to work with four-year-old children.
- Out-of-State Candidate. Select this if you have completed a teacher preparation or advanced certification program in another state OR if you hold a teaching certificate in another state.
- Paraprofessional Title I Credential. Select this ONLY if you are taking the OGET because you are applying for a Paraprofessional Title I Credential (No Child Left Behind Act of 2001).
9. College Major(s)
Indicate your college major(s) (up to two). If you are registering by mail, refer to the "College Major Codes" table that follows for the three-digit code(s) to enter on your registration form.
10. Examinee Score Reporting Information
Score reporting institutions must be indicated at the time of registration. Changes cannot be made after you register.If you are seeking Additional Endorsement, Certification via an alternative pathway, a Paraprofessional Title I Credential, or a Four-Year-Olds and Younger Certificate, please leave the questions in this section blank.
- OSAT and/or OPTE Institution
If you are registering for one or two OSATs or an OPTE, use the "Institution Codes" table that follows to indicate the Oklahoma institution that has granted or will grant the degree qualifying you for certification in the test area(s). This institution may receive your OSAT and/or OPTE test score(s). If your teacher preparation or advanced certification program was completed in another state, leave this question blank and complete "Out-of-State Preparation" below. If you did not go through a teacher preparation or advanced certification program for the certification area you are seeking with this assessment, leave this question blank.- OGET Institution (not required for those seeking a Paraprofessional Title I Credential)
If you are registering for the OGET, use the "Institution Codes" table that follows to indicate the Oklahoma institution where you completed the largest number of credit hours in general education. General education courses are those in the areas of English, the humanities, social science, science, and mathematics that are typically required by colleges to form the foundation of a college education. This institution may receive your OGET test scores. If your general education preparation was completed in another state, leave this question blank and complete "Out-of-State Preparation" below.- Out-of-State Preparation
