Who Is Required to Take the Tests?

The table below provides a general summary of the assessment requirements for individuals seeking certification in Oklahoma for the 2009–2010 program year. Refer to "Certification Requirements" for information about the specific OPTE and OSAT tests required.

Additional certification areas/endorsements OSAT (Administrator and advanced subject areas have requirements beyond testing. Beginning November 1, 2009, Elementary Education, Early Childhood, and Special Education will also have requirements beyond testing.)
Alternative certification OGET, OPTE, OSAT
Early Childhood/CDA Certificate OGET, OSAT Early Childhood Education (005)
Paraprofessional Title I Credential OGET

Out-of-State Applicants

Individuals seeking Oklahoma certification who are certified outside of Oklahoma are required to pass the CEOE, including the OGET, OPTE, and OSAT, or verify passage of comparable tests. For more information about testing requirements or comparability to other states' tests, contact the OCTP.
